Student Involvement

ROTC Scholarships

Both high school and college students have numerous opportunities to experience ROTC. High school students have a chance to get a head start and apply for the scholarship before they graduate, and college students can also join, competing for campus-based scholarships during their time in the program.

High School Students

High school students can be awarded 3-4 year scholarships that cover the entirety of your choice of tuition or room and board. These scholarships are merit-based and awarded to those who excel scholastically, physically, and possess leadership potential.

If you are a high school student, you may apply for the ROTC scholarship if you have completed your junior year and if you are eligible. ROTC is a highly competitive program and it is important that you strive for the best grades and performance in school. Desirable students include those who are achievers in both academics and athletics, and serve in leadership positions. Some requirements of the scholarship are:

  • Be a US Citizen
  • Between the ages 17-26
  • High school GPA of at least 2.5
  • Minimum SAT score of 920 (math/verbal) or ACT score of 19
  • Meet physical standards
  • Agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army after college

NOTE: Applying for the Army ROTC scholarship and for admission into Marist College are two separate processes.

You can start the application process through the Army's ROTC website. Even if you are not selected for a scholarship, you can still enroll in Army ROTC as a college freshman.

College Students

College students can also be awarded scholarships that fully cover tuition or room and board similar to high school applicants. The difference is that college students will enroll in the Marist ROTC program without a scholarship or contract, and will instead compete for them amongst other students within the program.
